History
Spring Creek Outdoors, LLC is a company offering the wildlife management consulting services of Macy Ledbetter. Macy started working toward becoming a wildlife biologist before he even knew there was such a thing. He has had a life-long passion for wildlife, habitat, and hunting. His father saw to it that his passion was put into practice on the family ranch in San Saba County at a very young age. Since earning a degree in Wildlife Management from Texas A&M University, Macy has worked as a ranch foreman, a commercial game harvester, both a private and state wildlife biologist, and public hunting lands manager.
While working as a TPWD regulatory wildlife biologist and assistant area manager of the James Daughtrey Wildlife Management Area in Live Oak and McMullen Counties, Macy assisted over 142 individual ranches encompassing just over 450,000 acres. Small and large properties, high and low fenced, native and exotic animals, game and non-game animals, habitat management of all types and methods, with and without operating constraints, Macy has vast experience in assisting landowners in making his recommendations real, practical, and attainable. Few people in the industry can offer the perspectives and real-world experiences that he has to offer. Macy can explain the wildlife management processes like no other and makes each individual step palatable and educational.
After living in South Texas for ten years while working for TPWD, Macy and his family returned to live on his historic family ranch located near the geographical heart of Texas. As a fifth generation landowner and rancher, Macy can understand and appreciate the desires and feelings of landowners and managers and of potential landowners.
Macy and his family have formed Spring Creek Outdoors, named after the little community near the family ranch where his ancestors are now buried. The tabernacle, the landmark of the community, serves as the company's logo. We offer complete wildlife management services and ranch real estate consulting and marketing services to private landowners (and potential landowners) throughout North, Central, and South Texas. In addition, Macy is an accomplished outdoor photographer, writer, and presenter.
Other designations include being a certified measurer for Boone and Crockett, Pope and Young, and Texas Big Game Awards, a Prescribed Burn Boss for the South Texas eco-region, a whitetail deer disease specialist, and Hunter Education Instructor. |
